Topic important and timely
Nice job of tying research interests to specific courses
Budget justification clear

Why the Edmonton site? " You mention the existing studies of Edmonton; is similar information non-existent for communities in our region? A focus closer to home would have greater impace on policy and pandemic flu preparedness in the state and region."

Point out the importance of having just one health system to survey.
Point out that the model will apply to all regions, not just Edmonton.

What are the specific shortcomings of the current risk communication research and protocols that would be addressed and improved through this project. For example, What innovations in the evaluative component of this project would likely lead to better outcomes in emergency preparedness communication in the future?

Look at the message mapping technique used by OEP
Look at research surveys done by OEP

Specify the number of anticipated participants in the initial interviews or town-hall-style meetings as well as the follow up focus groups: this information was available in the appended IRB document, but not in the body of the proposal.

Work up specific proposals for IRB for TTU and UA

To Do List

Ask David and Eric if they are able to provide any "internal" funding.

Incorporate Section 13 of Proposal 7 into the 2008 REF proposal

Check with Palmer on VS designation

Adjust objectives to state that the model will reflect on the effectiveness of existing communication products by building the model of public participation into them. What's beyond the "focus on safety"? What impact might larger concerns of the public have on existing communication products.
